Their incident promoted Valentino Rossi to second and saw Dani Pedrosa take a surprise third place finish. Determined to finish, Dovizioso showed true grit and determination to push his Ducati across the line for 13th place.

Héctor Barberá made fifth and Pol Espargaró, who dropped to sixth after running across the grass on the last lap.
Stefan Bradl secured a fine seventh, ahead of Bradley Smith, Tito Rabat and Álvaro Bautista, who ensured both Aprilia riders finished in the top 10.
